This page explains how to have data deleted that OrcaLinq, operated by Orca Linq, holds about you — including data obtained through Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
What you can ask us to delete
You can ask us to delete the personal data we hold about you. That includes anything we obtained when you signed in with Facebook, and any record identifying you as the person who connected a Facebook Page, Instagram account, or WhatsApp Business account to our service.
Deleting data we received through Facebook
If you signed in using Facebook, you can remove our app directly from your Facebook account: go to Settings & Privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites, select this app, and choose Remove. Facebook then notifies us automatically and we delete the sign-in link we hold for you. You will receive a confirmation code and a link where you can check the status of that request.
Asking us directly
You do not have to go through Facebook. Email us from the address on your account and say that you want your data deleted. We will confirm your identity before acting, because acting on an unverified request would itself be a data breach.
What happens to a business's connected accounts
If you connected a Page, Instagram account, or WhatsApp Business account on behalf of a business, we remove the record identifying you personally but keep the business's connection working. Disconnecting a company's customer messaging because one individual exercised a personal right would take a service down for people who never asked for it. The business remains the controller of its own account and can disconnect it at any time.
How long it takes
Automated requests are actioned immediately and you can check progress with the confirmation code you are given. Requests made by email are completed within 30 days, and usually much sooner. We will tell you when it is done.
If we held nothing
If we find no data linked to you, we will say exactly that rather than reporting a deletion that never happened. "We never held any" and "we deleted it" are different answers and you are entitled to the accurate one.
Conversation records
Messages you exchanged with a business using our service belong to that business, which is the data controller for them. We process them on the business's behalf. If you want those deleted, contact the business directly; tell us and we will help identify who to contact and pass the request on.
